Woods of Terror Halfway to Halloween May 3rd, 2025

Located in Greensboro, NC

Highly organized, with safety check points. Security and ticketing on point. 5 stars

Anticipation 4 stars

Midway wasn't its usual buzz due to the weather, but I loved the core characters and music. The drink bar was fun and refreshing; I just wish the cup was a bit bigger for the cost. I purchased a fast pass with extras but didn't use the ax throwing because of the rain. Wait times were reasonable. Stars 4.5

First impression 5 stars

The attractions and midway had good lighting and made good all-around impressions. The fog area before the hospital was very hard to navigate, and some spots were slick because of the mud, but that was understandable.

4.5 stars lighting

4.7 for sound. It could be louder in the outdoor entrances to each scene, but all sound effects worked.

Actors: 4.5. The presenters were on point; my favorite was Eleven. The presentation was great. The twins in Midway always do a good job. The fungus group had some of the best pop scares. The women prior to the chainsaw kept me highly entertained. Overall, the macabre clan of actors and talented artists did not disappoint. They knew their space well. If it was their first time, I would have never known. Each person definitely made their spot work, whether they were speaking or non-verbal.

Costumes and makeup: 5 out of five.

Being that these are two things I highly involve myself with, I really enjoyed seeing the different looks of the different makeups and the different costumes. Overall, they fit the spaces they were in and looked comfortable and well put together. I did miss a lot of the Midway characters, but that's understandable due to the weather and it being an off-season event.

5 stars for props, animatronics, and sets. Honestly, this whole Pond is standalone when it comes to sets and props; I could walk for hours and see all the wonderful little Easter eggs placed in each area. The true-to-life sets really warmed my heart. I can also appreciate the Baba Yaga, and how many candles they have, which probably need to have their batteries replaced daily. The sets and atmosphere are absolutely stunning in each of these areas; I would have to say that, out of all of them, Baba Yaga did not disappoint - absolutely stunning. Followed by a close favorite, the mortuary, with its Victorian design, and the horse and buggy, which makes me feel like I'm at a Disney attraction, horrifyingly elevated. Which brings me to the church actor that I forgot to mention earlier - very nice. If I had to say what needed a little more work, maybe it's the clown area.

4.5 theme

This attraction has several different themes and several different attractions. I feel there's a bit of a struggle and flow from the Fungus Among Us to the clown area, but the flow from there goes very smoothly. The bus in between is a nice touch to tie it together. However, coming toward the ending, I feel like some things are missing. The haunt as a whole is a powerhouse, and I feel like the exit always leaves me wanting more. I'm glad it didn't have a cliché ending of the typical, but I feel like there should be a sequel - it could be the Haunter and me just wanting to enjoy more of the beautiful sets and the charismatic actors that I had seen prior. My overall score would be a 4.7. There is room for some improvements - there always will be in this industry. But these folks have their ducks in a row, for sure. It is an experience that every haunt enthusiast needs to have. I plan on coming back in October to get the full show. Even during a thunderstorm, rainy mess, they still put on an amazing show. I highly recommend this haunt, especially when you get an itch mid-year and it's not spooky season just yet. And you never have to worry about the quality being compromised for price or season. Can't wait to see you again.
