Total Terror Haunted Attraction Review:
Total Terror Haunted Attraction is located in Powhatan, VA a venue with a vendors, props and more! Total Terror Haunted Attraction is right off of Highway US-60 and not hard to see from the road.
Entrance setup/midway:
Total Terror Haunted Attraction brings a different look to haunts in today's haunt world. They have a very handmade old school feel to them which is not something you see anymore. Queue Line was outside made with ropes and the entrance area had handmade photo ops. They also had some actors in the midway along with corn hole set up to play, old commercial and horror clips, and a gift shop and guest vendors. Our favorite part was these photo ops that were handmade they are so unique. Rating for Entrance/Midway: 4
Management:
Upon arrival, the haunt was very easy to get a hold of. We were very humbled and felt so awesome that they were so accommodating to us. We felt so welcomed from the beginning to the end of the night. Very professional how they run this haunt and such kindness we felt from all the staff. Very well-established cast and managers always within arm's reach. Thank you, Wendy you rock! Rating for management: 5
Scenes and Sets:
As we mentioned before this haunt feels very much like a old school home haunt, we knew we were in for a treat with this one. And we were right! Total Terror defiantly has that haunt feel that you grew up with. You can tell they have put a massive amount of work into this haunt with the handmade sets and hand paper mâché props. Every corner, hallway, and space was covered in awesome detail. They lean more towards the creepy hills has eyes kind of feel details Rating for scenes and sets: 5
Actors and placement:
It was all spot on; each scare actor was placed so well throughout the entire haunt/experience. There were a few places I felt could of had a few more actors especially in the cornfield. I did think majority of the actors did a great job but I did feel some needed a little bit more training because it didn't seem like they really were trying ot cred. I will say they do have one actor who was eating onions and one person from our group it made her sick. Rating for Actor and placement: 3.5
Lighting placement:
Most sets/scenes had the right amount of light in them. In the cornfield, they highlighted the correct areas that drew your eye to the right area and helped you not fall while being outside. The house we felt could use a few more lights, some areas seemed too dark especially when the details were so good they need to be showed off. Rating for lighting placement: 3.5
Costuming and wardrobe:
The home feeling with costumes and wardrobe was fitting and The handmade masks were so unique and so cool. We have never seen masks made and worn by actors handmade by paper mâché. The makeups we did see were a little sloppy seemed very rushed or thrown on not very flattering for the characters in a way that helped their character. Rating for costuming and wardrobe: 3
Crowd control:
They have a line set up to enter the house first or you can walk down and do the cornfield whichever you prefer. Lots of staff seen all around and also some actors out in the front midway area. Staff was visible in main areas. Crowd Control was good for the number of people that had come in for the night. If their was more though I don't know how well it would go because their is a big walk with open land from the house to the cornfield. Rating for crowd control: 4
Attractions:
Total Terror consists of two attractions.
Feldgeister Cornfield:
A corn field filled with lots of scares and some awesome big handmade props that are very cool, including a big demon, and pumpkin prop. Their is a story about the cornfield and they talk to you about it before you enter which was really a nice touch. Was a big area but felt like we walked a good bit with no actors around. Too many chainsaws seemed like it was the only way they knew to try to scare someone at some points. Rating: 3
Excorcysm House:
A house full of all kinds of different scenes. We loved the small details in the rooms they are very full of decor. Each set had a actor to it and most did very well in the house on staying on you and working on getting that scare. Did think a few more lights or sounds could of been added to heighten the effect. 4
Tickets:
General Admission is $20.00. You can purchase online with fees for $23.80 .
Overall Haunt Rating:
We were overall still very impressed with this haunt; there's not a ton of haunts out there anymore that do it this way which it makes it amazing in its own experience. If you grew up going to mom and pop haunts this is defiantly not one to miss it's such a nostalgia feel. If you are younger this is also a great haunt as well because it is so different.
Overall Haunt Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
